Research interests:
Laura’s main research interests and expertise lie at the intersection between Soft Matter, Fluid Dynamics and Statistical Physics. Throughout her career, she has been exploring pattern formation and phase transitions in Complex Systems in the context of Material Science, Green Technologies and Environmental Science, with a combination of modelling and experiments. Her current research focuses on particle suspensions and microswimmers (both biological and artificial) and aims at connecting their emerging structural features at different length scales to measurable material properties. Her long-term goal is the development of sustainable technologies and biomaterials exploiting self-assembling systems, by using a combination of multiscale-modelling, structural characterization techniques and experiments.
