Research Topic: A novel coupling approach for DEM/CFD simulations accounting for the heterogeneous and anisotropic nature of bulk solids
The research focuses on developing an advanced DEM/CFD coupling method to improve fluid-particle interaction modeling accuracy. By accounting for the heterogeneous and anisotropic nature of bulk solids, the aim is to enhance the prediction of hydrodynamic forces on particles in complex flow conditions. The objective is to integrate hydrodynamic force prediction models that effectively capture the effects of varying particle size distributions, non-isothermal flows, and particle movement.
